How It Works

Our calculator uses the XP budget system where each party level has specific XP thresholds for different encounter difficulties. Monster XP values are determined by their level relative to the party level, with adjustments for creatures significantly above or below the party's level.

The tool multiplies base XP budgets by party size to accommodate groups of different sizes, ensuring balanced encounters whether you're running for 3 players or 6.
